Creating spaces, sessions and experiences where every child can participate, connect and thrive.

Understanding every child

The Sandcastle Practice is built on the belief that every child deserves to be understood. Here, we look closely at the child, the people around them and the spaces they move through, designing the session to allow them to participate, connect and thrive.

We are committed to working with you to create meaningful environments for all children.

What is Occupational Therapy?

Occupational Therapy (OT) helps children develop the skills they need to play, learn, form relationships, and become more independent in their everyday lives.

For children, their “occupations” are the everyday things they do — from playing and making friends to getting dressed, eating, writing, going to school, and managing their routines.

Sometimes, a child may find these things harder than expected. An OT looks at what might be getting in the way and works with the child and family to find practical ways forward.

OTs focus on

  • Dressing, buttoning, and putting on shoes

  • Work time, handwriting & using scissors

  • Toileting, showering, toothbrushing

  • Social participation

  • Emotional Regulation, transitions

  • Cognitive skills

  • Fine motor & gross motor skills

  • School readiness

  • Sensory Processing

  • Parent coaching

About Rosemarie

By Rosemarie Lim
Paediatric Occupational
Therapist

Rosemarie Lim is a paediatric Occupational Therapist based in Singapore and the founder of The Sandcastle Practice.

Rosemarie believes support should be practical, meaningful and tailored to each child, while equipping the adults around them with the understanding and confidence to help them thrive.

Through The Sandcastle Practice, she hopes to make developmental and occupational therapy knowledge more accessible, working alongside children, parents and educators to create experiences and environments where every child can participate, connect and flourish.

Her approach looks beyond a child’s challenges to understand what may be getting in the way, and how the people, routines, relationships and environments around them can better support their participation.

Rosemarie holds a Bachelor of Science in Occupational Therapy and a Diploma in Child Psychology and Early Education. She is a registered Occupational Therapist with the Allied Health Professions Council (AHPC) in Singapore. She currently works in an early intervention setting, where she has supported over 200 children and their families with a wide range of developmental needs.

At the heart of her work is a simple belief: every child deserves to be understood, supported and given the opportunity to participate meaningfully.
